The Day of Your Treatment
Arrive well-hydrated — Good hydration makes your blood draw easier and improves the quality of your plasma. We recommend 8-10 glasses the day before and at least 2 glasses on the day of your session.
Eat something — Have a snack or meal before you come in to ensure you feel well and your blood sugar is stable for the blood draw.
1 Day Before Your Treatment
Avoid alcohol — Steer clear of alcohol for at least 24 hours before your session. Alcohol can thin the blood, increase the likelihood of bruising, and lower your plasma quality.
3 Days Before Your Treatment
Avoid certain medications — Stop taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Advil, Aleve, Motrin, and Naproxen. These can interfere with the platelet function we are trying to harness.
Avoid blood-thinning supplements — Pause supplements known to thin the blood. This includes Vitamin A, E, Ginko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), and Turmeric.
If you are on any prescribed blood thinners, including baby aspirin, please consult with your physician/prescriber before pausing.
